When To Drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar. We recommend you to let the wine ‘breathe’ at least 15-30 minutes before serving
Tasting Notes
Garnet red colour. The nose is intense; the dominant fruity scents are followed by floral aromas of rose and geranium, followed by spicy notes. On the palate it is a full-bodied wine with velvety tannins. Balanced and persistent.
Vinification and Refinement
Transferred, after fermentation, to barriques for about 24 months and then bottled, rigorously by hand, the “Foglia Tonda” is vinified without using any machinery.
Vineyard
Pleistocene and alberese clayey-sandy soil; each vine, then, produces a maximum of 900 grams of grapes and, for one hectare, the overall average yield does not exceed 60 quintals.
The ranks of the vine are hoed by hand and the same is treated with Bordeaux mixture.
